Ring Tones

My girl child has a mobile phone - prepaid. We keep putting credit on it, and she hardly uses it at least to phone OUT and yet the credit seems to evaporate. Hmmmmm… So, I phoned vodafone last night to try and find out what all the credit was being spent on. What a drama to get to speak to a human!! Even their head office number gave me the run around with some electronic chick called Lara. Sheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeesh.

Eventually I got to speak to a very nice guy. I felt sorry for him, I reckon just about every caller he gets would be in a filthy mood - I certainly was given the length of time I was stuck on hold. The credit sucking source turned out to be Jamba… yes… that’s Jamster. Girl child sent off for a 50c ring tone months ago, and of course, she thought she’d just spent that amount, but Jamster keep charging her for ring tones. I have now cancelled Miss 10 year old’s Jamster subscription and hope that she has learnt a valuable lesson. No wonder Jamster can afford to advertise so much……

Thank heaven for Grandma

It’s school holidays here in Queensland. Yesterday my son turned 12 years old! Eek! What a big boof of a boy he’s turning into as well, I took him to the local sports shop this morning and bought him some new shoes - size 12. Pretty big huh? His grandmother came down to spend his birthday with us, and today she headed off with him and his younger sister. Just one child here with us until Sunday - bliss!! Don’t get me wrong, I love the kids, but well… a little bit of peace and quiet every now and then is delightful as well - especially for an old 40 year old like myself .. heh :)

Good!

US congress has passed a bill for 51.8 billion dollars - Katrina relief. Good! Also, the huge task of evacuating people continues. Let’s hope that common sense prevails and people who aren’t involved in the clean up mission get out of the way.

School holidays have just started here! No doubt I’ll be spending some time at the local beach for the next two weeks. Here’s a web cam of the one closest to where I live. If you ever think of visiting the Gold Coast in Australia - this time of year, spring, is absolutely perfect. Glorious days, moderate temperatures, cool nights. Heaven!

Threw the kids in to see ‘Charlie and the Chocolate Factory’ the other day. Johnny Depp got a big thumbs up! He is kinda cute :)
