Off to a 40th party…

You know, I really did feel the pinch about hitting 40 last year, but since then I’ve really been okay about it.  Everywhere I look I seem to read that 40 is the new 30!  I don’t feel 30 though :)   Anyway, I’m off to a friend’s 40th birthday party this weekend - I can’t wait to  ‘welcome him to the club’.  I’ve got no idea yet what I’ll buy him.  I hope I come up with something more inspiring than a bottle of plonk between now and the party.

If anyone has any ideas - please feel free to email me.

You know, my daughter had to make a big poster for school and she had to write the family’s ages on it…  Beside my pic she wrote:

My Mum’s 21 Years Old
(for the 19th time)

She thinks she’s funny…

I’ve been very quiet…

It’s been a while since I last posted. I have moved house and am living back in Brisvegas. While Brisbane seems to stay the same, there’s also a lot that has changed. I think I’d forgotten what it’s like to live in the ‘big smoke’. Still, there was only so much living in paradise that a person could take.

I’ve been following the Top Taste story in the news. For those of you who don’t know, there’s been a number of incidents of late where consumers have found metal objects in their Top Taste products. Imagine biting into a cake and finding a sewing needle or a razor blade! eeeeeek! It is thought that a disgruntled employee is behind the foreign object insertions. Obviously, whoever is responsible must be quite disturbed. If the guilty party is an employee - why didn’t he or she just quit? Surely a job change must be preferable to stint in prison…

I’m sure that you’re all thrilled to hear that the Branjelina duo, Brad and Anjelina, have finally become parents to a little girl they have named Shiloh Nouvel Jolie-Pitt. I’m sure that name must mean something. If you google Shiloh you’ll find out that there was a Battle of Shiloh that happened during the American Civil War, there’s a company called Shiloh that makes metal products, there’s even a book called Shiloh - but that’s about an abused beagle that runs away from his cruel owner. I shouldn’t imagine that any of those are the probably namesakes! Not that it matters, good for them that they have a healthy baby.
